Although Heritage Conservancy is based on the County seat of Doylestown, they have been an active partner along the Delaware Canal as they strive to achieve their mission to preserve and protect our natural and historic heritage. Their staff has provided invaluable advice and assistance to the municipalities and organizations that care for the watershed and open space that contribute to the quality of water in the Delaware Canal.
They have also been instrumental in helping villages along the Canal establish historic districts that focus on the connections between the residents and business in those communities and the access to commercial markets provided by the Canal. They also provide assistance to individual property owners who want to list their property on the National Register of Historic Places or to use the tax credits available for properties already listed.
