Welcome to Yardley

An historic Bucks County village
Get Directions

A block from Main Street, the Delaware Canal divides the commercial core from the quiet residential neighborhood.

Walk along the shady towpath and enjoy the neighborly greetings from fellow trail users as well as from residents enjoying their yards adjacent to the path. Local residents are happy to share their bucolic town with visitors. Life is anything but dull in this lovely village. During the summer and fall, the Yardley Farmers’ Market is the place to be on Saturday mornings from 9 am to 1 pm. Buttonwood Park creates a welcoming setting and the organizers are very creative with themes and activities. Consequently, the Market became an instant success their first year. Their second outdoor season will run through October when they move indoors for the winter.

A Classic Small Town

Yardley-PumpkinsMusic on Main offers a busy schedule of live, outdoor music in downtown on Saturday evenings. The Old Library on Afton Lake is so breathtaking that it has become a favorite for local photographers and painters  throughout the year. Generations have fond memories of ice skating on the frozen lake and fishing throughout the summer. For a week before Halloween, hand-carved pumpkins line the canal at night for Canal-o-ween. Visitors and residents stroll along the towpath to see the creative work by young and old, professional and amateur carvers. Visitors and residents join in the fun by carving their own pumpkins for display at Carv-o-ween on the Sunday before Canal-o-ween. The Yardley Business Association hosts several community events throughout the year, including a Beerfest, Harvest Day and the Holiday parade. Yardley is quintessentially a landmark town.
