Get Out There and Have Some Fun!

Long before the current healthy lifestyle trend, residents and visitors have been active on the Delaware Canal towpath. Locals talk about fishing and skating on the canal and hiking and biking along the towpath as kids. Visitors have been exploring the towpath to spot wildlife, birds and flora for decades.

The Delaware River offers its own recreation opportunities. Fishing, kayaking and tubing are all popular ways of enjoying the beauty of the Delaware River. In Bristol, the river is tidal and boats can come up from Philadelphia and beyond to visit. Look for the construction to start soon on day docks at the Bristol Wharf. Visitors will be able to tie up and enjoy downtown Bristol with its festivals, restaurants, arts and shops.

Explore the recreational opportunities along the Delaware Canal and River in the Landmark Towns.
